DEPUTY CHIEF POSITION

Competition no 055 - DEPUTY CHIEF OF THE BELLE-BAIE MUNICIPAL POLICE

The Municipality of Belle-Baie wishes to recruit a seasoned professional to assume the duties of DEPUTY CHIEF OF THE BELLE-BAIE MUNICIPAL POLICE and to actively contribute to the safety, trust, and well-being of our community.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

Under the authority of the Chief of Police, the Deputy Chief actively participates in the direction, planning, and coordination of the operational and administrative activities of the Belle-Baie police force.


In this role, he/she:


- Plans, supervises, and optimizes police operations to ensure effective, safe service that meets professional standards.

- Contributes to labour relations management, the application of collective agreements, and the maintenance of a healthy organizational climate.

- Oversees the delivery of specialized services and ensures the continuous improvement of practices.

- Acts as the Chief of Police's right hand regarding supervision and strategic management.

- Assumes all responsibilities of the Chief of Police in their absence.


He/she also performs any other related tasks required within the scope of the position.


EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION :

- Hold a diploma from a recognized police academy

- Have more than fifteen (15) years of experience as a police officer, including a minimum of five (5) years in personnel supervision (university training in advanced police administration would be an asset)

- Possess in-depth knowledge of police force operations and issues

- Excellent command of French and English

- Possess a valid New Brunswick driver's license

- Advanced interpersonal communication, conflict management, and inter-service collaboration skills

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :

- Work Location: Town of Belle-Baie

- Status: Full-time position, starting as soon as possible

- Salary: Salary Scale 8 of the Belle-Baie Human Resources Policy (between $115,700 and $130,312 per year)
